Online Learningzone
In the current economic climate, where jobs are very hard to come by, those who are unemployed are being encouraged to enroll in courses to enhance their skills or develop new skills, which in turn will increase their employability. In a recent move, FÁS has made its online training courses available, free of charge, to unemployed people.
It is well known, however, that people find it hard to study on their own. It requires organisation and self-discipline. That’s why study groups are so effective. There is a sense that the group is in it together and group members can encourage one another. Another thing that can help is having a tutor available to help the learner overcome obstacles.
Jobcare have set up a dedicated space in the Jobcare Resource Room called the Online Learningzone. Clients are encouraged to book themselves in to this service to study alone or in groups. Facilities and assistance are available.
