CLAiT (Computer Literacy and Information Technology)

CLAiT is an eight-week computer course for people with some experience of computers.  CLAiT covers:

• Microsoft Office Word and file management
• Microsoft Excel and graphs (spreadsheets)
• Microsoft Office Access (database)
• Microsoft Office PowerPoint
• Using the internet and email.

The CLAiT course is certified by OCR (Oxford Cambridge RSA Examinations) – New CLAiT Certificate/Diploma for IT Users.  CLAiT gives people the skills, knowledge and confidence necessary to operate computers at a basic level. 

As nearly all jobs use computers in some way or another it is vital that jobseekers have at least this level of computer literacy.  It is also suitable for preparing people to go on to more advanced training. 

All Jobcare CLAiT courses are small with a close ratio of trainers to trainees.  Applicants will be assessed before enrolling to determine which course of Jobcare’s is more suitable for them – CLAiT or First Steps.

Cost:
This is to cover the cost of examinations, certificates, training materials and administration costs.
€140 *A special rate for those who have completed Jobcare’s Employment Preparation Course
€200 for all others.
A deposit of €50 is payable in advance of course start
