You Can Help

Jobcare is continually extending its corporate and individual support base. This support is absolutely vital to our ongoing success as many of our key services to clients are not fully or adequately funded by government. This shortfall requires our operational staff to work with ingenuity and creativity to provide a first class service with only a fraction of the necessary resources at their disposal.

Our primary need is financial but support-in-kind and the voluntary donation of expert competencies in HR, Accountancy, Information Technology and Fundraising is also a priority for us.

Why Help Us?

Jobcare’s aims and objectives are informed by national and European directives on employment and social inclusion and against poverty. On an individual, human level we believe work has immediate correlations with dignity, identity, confidence, creativity, quality of life and social cohesion. Accordingly we see ourselves as an ancillary support service to both individuals, businesses, governmental agencies and to the community in general. Since our inception in 1994 we have provided practical help and advice to tens of thousands of unemployed people. Jobcare works closely with institutions such as prisons, drug rehabilitation programmes and psychiatric rehabilitation services. Jobcare is currently outreaching into the community through external training workshops and attendance at social welfare offices.

Some Statistics

  • Over 80% of Jobcare’s clients return to work (or further education) within six months of completing the Employment Preparation Course (EPC)
  • In an average working day Jobcare will have 50 – 70 drop-in clients in the Resource Room
  • Approximately 75% of Jobcare’s current clients are non-nationals
  • Jobcare employs 36 Community Employment staff in the Resource Room, Ancillary Services and External Training
  • Client satisfaction surveys consistently report that Jobcare “exceeds” clients’ expectations

How to Help

We need resources: to develop into new areas such as schools and prisons; and to continue developing our services for those with literacy gaps and mental health difficulties.

Specifically our needs are as follows:

  • Professional, voluntary time in HR, Legal and Accounting.
  • Laptops and wireless communication hardware and software.
  • Premises or funding for premises.
  • Long-term employment finance for our CEO and other employees through whom we can offer a broader and deeper service.
  • Cash to give us some space in our operating budgets.

Jobcare welcome support from Individuals and Commercial Organisations.

If you feel you can help with any of these please contact Andrew Hunter (Chairman) or Paul Mooney (CEO) at 01 - 6773897.
