About Us

History
Jobcare was founded in 1994 by Paul Mooney and Robin Boles as a Christian response to the problem of unemployment in inner city Dublin. The organisation was registered as a charity (Charity No 11301) in April 1994 and in September of that year the first Employment Preparation Course was delivered. The course was open to all but particularly targeted at Dublin inner city, socially excluded, long-term unemployed people. Since then the EPC has become recognized as an effective and successful means of helping individuals enter the workforce, and other services have been developed and launched over the years.
Paul Mooney has been the Chief Executive of Jobcare since 1994. In 2007 he was awarded a Level Two Award by Social Entrepreneurs Ireland as a recognition of his innovative approach to addressing unemployment amongst ex-offenders.

Ethos
At Jobcare we believe that everyone has a right to a form of employment that suits their individual needs, abilities and circumstances. Our overall aim is to help people get over any obstacles between themselves and appropriate work.
Since 1994 Jobcare has been committed to transforming the lives of individuals caught in the trap of unemployment through not only promoting their employment opportunities but also by recognising that the needs of the whole person must be met.
As a faith-based organisation, we intend to express God’s love for his people, and we want to see people freed from the impact of poor education and housing, ill-health, sustained substance abuse, broken relationships and broken parenting.
The ethos of Jobcare is to demonstrate the love of Jesus through actions rather than words. In order to achieve this the Jobcare team take time getting to know clients and those on work programmes and are committed to following up every person who comes through our doors.
